Athletes worked hard day in and day out in our COMPETE Sports Performance Training program at Skill of Strength this summer preparing for bigger and better seasons this coming year. Summer is an off-season for nearly all sports and it’s easier for most athletes to dedicate more time to their strength and conditioning while they are on a break from school.

COMPETE Sports Performance Training

Summer is an exciting time to be a strength and conditioning coach. High school seniors, who we often have trained for a few years, are getting ready for COLLEGE! College athletes we don’t get to see during the school year are back home for the summer. Plus, brand new athletes start up each summer in order to get stronger, faster and better for the upcoming year!

Although fall is upon us now, I wanted to celebrate some successes of our athletes who are now back in season! As a coach, one of the things I look forward to most is the excited texts, emails and phone calls from SOS athletes at the start of each season. I love staying connected with the athletes and it’s great to receive feedback about their results after they participate in our COMPETE. sports performance training program!

Sports Performance Conditioning

Step into my phone for a few minutes and check out some examples of what I’m talking about! I’d like to think our COMPETE sports performance training program helped these kids just a bit… 😉

Andrew is playing football at Tabor Academy.

Logan is playing soccer at Wheaton College. Fun side note is that Logan’s older sister and both of her parents also train at SOS. It’s a family affair!

Beth is playing soccer at Worcester State University and still found time for her training while balancing a summer job.

Check out this article which mentions Logan and Beth!

Kyle is playing soccer at George Mason and completed his senior internship program with SOS this past spring.

Matt is playing football at Chelmsford High School and he’s already establishing himself as one of the young leaders on the field. He also didn’t skip deadlift day… 😉

Chris plays Football at Plymouth State University and spent the summer preparing himself for a new position going into camp this fall.

Let that all sink in and check out this video of what we do in our COMPETE sports performance training program.

Stay tuned for part two next week where I’ll share a few more text messages from our athletes and go over what I’ve learned from our athletes as well as how athletes can make the most of their sports performance training in the summer and year-round.

As a reminder, your training program and focus will change throughout the year, but strength and conditioning is an ongoing journey!
