So you’ve heard strength training is a must, but if you’re a strength training newbie, it can be tough to figure out where to get started.
We're written thousands of programs for people who are just getting started with strength training or re-starting strength training after a long hiatus. Now, we've designed a beginner strength training program for you that can be done anywhere you have access to basic gym equipment (bands dumbells, kettlebells, bike).
The first 3 to 6 months of strength training for a beginner might be the most important lifting they will ever do. This is where you can create healthy habits, a positive training experience and dial in your technique.
Each day you'll have a warm-up designed to help you improve flexibility, increase core temperature and prepare your body for the training session. For beginners looking to improve your overall strength we program three total body days with a focus on larger compound movements (like squats, lunges, rows and pushups) and a bit of core work. You'll also see some ways to improve your conditioning with some joint-friendly cross training.
This program includes:
- Warmup and movement prep (about 10-15 minutes)
- A 3-day total body strength training (about 30-45 minutes)
- Joint-friendly conditioning
- Access to our Skill of Strength App (available on apple and Android)
- Access to videos to make sure you know what exercises to perform
- The ability to log all of your workouts via the app
